House Meeting

March 7th, 2007

              I.      General Announcements

a.      Fire Inspection

                                                               i.      Moved to March 12th

b.      Contracts

                                                               i.      If you want summer contracts, talk to Phil

1.      Rent will be $460 for Summer A/B, and $920 for

Summer C.

2.      Phil needs to know right away if you are staying for summer, we are deciding whether to ask Lori to stay for the summer.

                                                             ii.      Residents who want to stay here for the fall need to talk to Phil or Victoria now so that we can reserve spots for you.  If you do not, we may fill up and not have a room for you.

c.      Cleanliness

                                                               i.      Residents need to keep an eye out for cleanliness over these next few weeks.  Interviews and tours will be being done throughout the day, throughout the week at any time.

d.      Fine Meeting

                                                               i.      Tomorrow at 8pm

e.      Finishing up Rooms

                                                               i.      If you see problems with your room or other rooms (holes in the walls, problems with the door) please write a request to Armando so that we can address these problems on the next work day.

f.        A new map will be purchased

g.      Eric Bravo’s bike is stolen. He says that he kept it on the balcony and    forgot to lock it up. If you know anything about it, let him know.

h.   Phil wants to know if you know a way to get into CLO that could be hazardous to our safety, fill out a maintenance request form for Armando.

i.      Mike Lugo will be late for the fine meeting

 

           II.      Officer Reports

a.      President

Shari is welcomed to the house. She offered to help CLOnes find full or part time jobs by writing an excellent resume for them.

Phil got us a new dumpster that is bigger. If you see someone else using our dumpster, let Phil know so he can address the issue.

Brochures are still being mailed out.

Visitor passes are given out by Phil. Make sure they are visible in the windshield so your guest don’t get towed.

b.      Vice-President

Fire inspection will be on March 12. Fire code violations are posted in the bathrooms. Gisi says she is going to paint an EXIT sign over her window because it is not painted on there right now. Rooms will be locked back after the inspection. Armando apologizes for the A/C being out. Joe and Vince are working on fixing them. Remove bikes from the north building. They must be kept either on the bike racks, or in your room. They cannot be under the stair well, or in empty rooms. Armando thanks all residents that have been helping him.

c.      Kitchen Manager

Sign up on the sheet if you are staying over spring break. Jorge will be in charge of the kitchen over the break. Most things will be locked up. Jorge says that if the kitchen is a mess over the break, he will keep it locked up. The alumni are paying for a new fryer. Residents are not to be going through the fridges in the kitchen. Guest meals for February will be on March’s statement. Check the details so you don’t miss them. If you did not sign up, Leo will assign you a day. Residents are responsible for trading details, just let Leo know.

d.      Secretary

Jorge is in charge of mail, so if you need to get in your mailbox, see him. The alumni BBQ will be April 14th. All residents are expected to show up and participate/ mingle with the alumni. If you want to write an article for the alumni newsletter, let Randy or Denley know.

e.      Public relations

Formal is March 23. You need to RSVP to ensure you have a meal. Make sure you mark if a guest is coming with you. New members must be present at Formal. People on the recruitment committee are going to be flyering around the dorms. If you are living here in the Summer, you must let Victoria know what room, and who is your roommate so she can start making rooming assignments. If you are here for the Summer, Victoria needs your help with tabling at Preview. Board members officers must stay after meeting for Formal planning meeting.

f.        Treasurer

Check your statements so you pay the right amount. Taxes have been paid for 2006 and W2s have been filed. Rent is due tomorrow by 6 PM. Informal charges and bike auction charges will be on your next statement. Late fees are $25.

       III.      Other Announcements

In April: president, KM, PR, secretary, and board members will be up for elections. These positions look really good on resumes. Officers are evaluated at the end of the month, and in good review, can be compensated for rent. If you are interested in an officer position, get with that officer, and start shadowing them finding out what their position entails. If you plan on running for an officer position, you must be a member.
